Ticket touts are what gigs need... they help sell and buy tickets.. its just like a ticket wholesaler...

How dare tesco buy washing powder and sell it to me for 95% mark up but I really need the washing powder so I will have to pay it .... now does that seem like a problem?

Ticket touts are needed.

I think anything that can stop the touts has to be good. There are loads of genuine fans who can't get tickets because so many get snapped up by speculators who have no intentiion of going to see the band or the event, but whose only motive is profiteering from genuine fans. You hear the music industry whine about piracy and how much it costs the industry. They want legislation to curb this but at the same time this industry seems reluctant to support the people who in all probability buy their music legitamately.

I think it's just the way how these guys are earning. I guess what's best is to buy tickets the soonest time possible. And if unavoidable, then I guess there goes the ticket tout and we can actually do nothing about it.

Hello,
I completely agree with you. They buy the tickets to sell and make a profit. In my opinion is the ticket touts are not going anywhere with their new policy. They wil face stiff competition from others tickets providers.
Anyway thanks for sharing this idea.

Hello,

Ticket touts are as good as they are bad... They take a lot of risk when they buy a lot of one ticket and they must lose some money especially as they may not sell them all.

I do understand how it is annoying when you want to go to a gig and you cant buy a ticket.... I always turn up and I can always get a ticket outside which is good especially for the last minute gigs

I agree, it's a question of motivation. I've seen tickets for Arctic Monkeys in Barcelona going for 130 euros when the face value was less than 40 AND tickets were still available through official ticket channels. That is a rip off.

However, if someone is matching ticket owners who have an extra ticket or can't go to sellers who missed out then good luck to the.

I paid $60 for a ticket worth $20, it was a last minute ticket and i was dying to go to that concert. The guy who sold it must have a great profit, because he sold many such tickets. But its not fair!
